The Boy model from our short film The Boy Who Cried.
We wanted to go with a low poly model that had the look of a 3D paper sculpture, so I used the box model process to create him in Maya. For the texture, I photographed individual sheets of construction and drawing papers back lit in order to see more of their fibrous makeup. Each was aligned to the UVs in Photoshop, and an alpha mask was used to create the torn edges around the hair and the clothing.
